As an added bonus, Bret Saberhagen's first child was born the previous night.UPDATE: Even after the call, the Cardinals had their chances, such as Jack Clark missing an easy foul pop fly.

 | tvtator (5) 03/14/2004 | I've admitted to not being a sports fan, but I do appreciate baseball. As a resident of the Show Me State, this was the only World Series I ever cared about. I remember this being all over the news(local and national) It was also called the I-70 Series. Kansas City was favored where I live. I personally prefer the Cardinals, but no matter how many times they whine and belly ache, in 1985 the Royals won because in the end they were the better team.

 | irishgit (146) 03/14/2004 | An entertaining series, mention of the Show Me Showdown still gets Cards fans riled up. They'll start ranting about the bad call in game 6 and blame it for their boys losing. The fact is, the Cards fell apart when it mattered, and the better team won.
