Only public figure I'm aware of who predicted this was Joe Morgan. Good call! :)

I loved this World Series, because the arrogant A's who thought they would walk in and sweep the Reds got swept instead. It was beautiful to watch the arrogant sports media run around and try to explain how this could happen to the mighty A's. It was not as great as watching the big Red Machine, but was a classic case of David and Goliath.

Probably my favorite in the last couple decades because I was a Reds fan and living in Cincinnati then; unfortunately I missed the glory days of the mid 70s for the Reds. Beautiful playing, great upset, perfectly wonderful.

Cincinnati's plumbers surprise the vaunted A's in one of the great upsets of series history. Interesting how the A's, either in their Philadelphia or Oakland versions have featured in so many series upsets. Billy Hatcher, of all people, breaks Babe Ruth's record by hitting .750 to take MVP.
