The ONLY WS the Braves would win during over a decade of dominance...against the Indians, of course. Talk about cursed...well, both teams do have offensive mascots that should have been changed long ago.

On paper, it looked a lot closer than it actually was. Proof that great pitching beats great hitting more often than not.

A lot of people take this series the wrong way. While the Indians only lost 1-0 in the clincher, Their offense might as well have been invisible and the Braves were the better team.

The best staff in baseball shut down the best offense, limiting the Indians to a .179 average. Five games were decided by one run, but it might as well have been twenty. The Indians were never in it.

Back when the Cleveland Indians were the big thing (Thome, Nagy, Belle), the Braves came along and whipped them easily. Go Braves!
