This kind of series for Wade Boggs to win was ironic because both times Boggs appeared in a World Series to this point, the eventual winning team came back from an almost impossible uphill battle and beat the Braves. It was a team of destiny.

Great series. Everyone thought da Braves would sweep, but we came back and stuck it to 'em.

The Braves looked to have this locked up when they walloped the Yankees in the opening two games. New York came back, however, winning the next four. The crucial game was game 4 when the Yankees rallied from 6 runs back to win 8-6 in ten innings. From that point on all you had to do was look in the Braves dugout to see that they were beaten.
