 | Sundiszno (30) 05/28/2004 | A great, versatile piece of headgear. I'm not sure about the current issue Kevlar Fritz helmet, but I was intimately acquainted with the earlier style GI pot. It was heavy, and usually hot (except, of course, when it was too cold!); It did have many positive attributes, however (in addition to its primary purpose of providing protection for your head). It really was useful as a cooking utensil in a pinch; it was pretty good as a washbasin; in an emergency, you could use it as an entrenching tool (or at least as a scraping tool); and, hard as it may be to believe, it made a halfway decent pillow when you were totally exhausted.
