 | FranksWildYears (48) 05/29/2008 | To me, John Gielgud epitomized the type of upper-crust thespian that was honoured with knighthood during his generation. A professional who cut his teeth on the stage, did all of the major Shakespearean roles, was selective in his fim work and maintained a dignified public image. If he had any unusual personal tastes, sexual interests or kinky habits, discretion was always practiced. If he happened to enjoy dressing squirrels in latex costumes and watching them mate, he would never embarrass her majesty by going public with it.
