Well made picture. Typical modern gore. Great for zombie picture fans.

not a bad movie for this genre. it was a bit gruesome but that goes with the territory.

One of the best zombie movies to date. Falls into the sequels-that-are-better-than-their-originals category, along with "The Fly", "The Blob", "The Thing", and "The Amityville Horror." Gory and chilling.

I really didn't think I would like this version of a Romero classic, but I was wrong. The new version is upbeat and fast paced, kinda funny, kinda scary, much much gorier, but that isn't always a plus in my book. However much I hate to admit it, I liked it. Definitely not the same as the original.

Again..... DON'T SCREW WITH THE CLASSICS!!! Why try to immitate? Be an inovator, not an immitator. Romero can't even do Romero like he used to. The original Night, Dawn, and Day of the dead movies were creative, fresh, and scary. The new crap just wants to flood the screen with gore.

My husband and I own this movie and we, along with my in-laws, absolutely love it. It is by far one of our favorites. I recommend it to anyone who likes horror movies.

Of course this has some shots of humor, but overall, lots of drama and horror. The first time I watched it, I screamed multiple times and just to be safe, I had to lock my doors before I slept because it was very realistic. I was expecting it to be totally scary, but they did a very good job of reviving this 1978 movie.

Excellent modern day adaptation of the classic movie. They don't bother with a moral message. It's just straight ahead violence and gore. Horror fans should love it.

Surprisingly effective horror movie emphasizes the human characters over the zombies through most of the movie. It features solid performances and good makeup effects. Intense and scary, with a sprinkling of humor. Worthwhile.

I'm sure it would be a good movie for people who like horror movies and such, but I saw the ad for it and I was terrified! It looks really freaky, and if I liked horror (which I don't) I would love this movie, but for now, you wouldn't catch me dead (no pun intended) watching this movie.

Saw a screening foe DAWN OF THE DEAD earlier this week. It was great! I can't wait to see it again. As much as I love the orginal, I'll be the first to admit I was never impressed by the greenish-blue makeup. I also never found the lumbering zombies to be completely frightening. In this version the zombies are relentless. i haven't been this tense watching a horror movie in a long time. But what really puts the movie above par is that the script actually pays attention to developing the characters. The screenwriter realizes that this is just as important, if not more, than the zombies, effects, and gore. Ving Rhames has an interaction with a gun owner across from the mall which is actually touching. Finally, someone who understands that creating characters we care about heightens the suspense. And for those fanatics of the original who thought the film would skimp on the gore, there's plenty of it here. If you're expecting a bloodfest, however, look elsewhere. This isn;t that type of film. It's too smart for that. If there was any drawback it would the large number of people in the cast. We don't get to know everyone as much as we would like to, and things move so fast we don't even get to know some of their names. Overall, though, this is a remake that doesn't try to mimic the original but improves on areas that could stand improving and manages to also take itin a new direction. In doing so it not only does the original proud but also creates a new film that completely stands on it on. Shame on all you petition signers who wanted to prevent this film from ever being made. You would have deprived us all from an awsome movie.
