Great player for a while, unfortunately his career was too short for Hall of Fame consideration. Later became a respected executive.

At his best as good a 3rd baseman as any in MLB history...a superb player for the period 1950-1954. In 1953 had one of the greatest, if not THE greatest, seasons of any 3rd basemen in the history of the game, batting .336 with 85 walks, .422 OBP, .613 SLG PCT, 43 HRs, 115 runs scored, 145 RBIs, leading the AL in assists, DPs and total chances per game. He lost the Triple Crown on the final day of the season and was unanimously chosen MVP. At his peak he gets a 5...but a 4 for this rating.
