Strong contender for the best ever at the position, Collins was slick fielder in an era when infields were a slight step up from a quarry, a line drive gap hitter with ferocious speed and considerable ability to win.
He was a key part of 4 series winning teams, and was possibly the smartest player of his era. A no-brainer Hall of Fame choice.

Superb player with the A's and White Sox, a winner who played regularly for 6 pennant winning and 4 Series winning teams. Didn't have very many homers, but stole a lot of bases, hit for some very high averages, and was a fine fielder. One of the brightest players of his era, and one of the very, very greatest 2b ever, top 3 in my book.

Not only was he one of the best but what also sets him apart is that he didn't tolerate the people who participated in the Black Sox scandal for the rest of his life.

Should be rated 3rd greatest behind Hornsby and Lajoie
