As ruthless a competitor who ever pulled on spikes, Robinson would run through a wall or a catcher to beat an opponent. A very good fielder, he was a strong hitter, and perhaps the best baserunner in history. He regularly manufactured runs out of nothing, and even late in his career was taking suicide leads off third and stealing off the pitcher.

as great as roger hornesby was,he batted over 400 3 times in his career,he is still second to jackie robinson.how could anybody not vote him #1 is amazing to me.the man broke the color barrier in 1947,the first black man to play in an all white league, but what a player he was.he brings to the team a will to win attitudehis fiery and heads up ball playing made his team mates better players.if you dont agree==read some history on this remarkable player and man
