Great player with Minnesota, but as noted below, had throwing problems in New York, and lost a lot of his luster.

I put Knoblauch on here because of how he was regarded during his early career. A pretty impressive hitter, he suddenly disintigrated as a fielder, to the extent that he was a huge liability in the infield. Very interesting how his career has similarities to that of Steve Sax, who also broke down as a fielder, albeit not as dramatically.

I still think he was one of the greatest second basemen of all time! Yes, he had a massive breakdown, but you can't argue with a championsip in his rookie year with the Twins, and three more with the Yankees. If you think he's bad, you try winning four championships!

Wow...Knoblauch's name got on this list. How could he even be considered as one of the best second baseman ever when he had to switch positions because he couldn't even throw the ball to first without having a breakdown.
