I think it's a great cut -I would have it if I didn't like the 'bald look' better..! The one in the pic here is on the long side though, it's usually much shorter on the sides, and a little shorter on top. It's unfortunate a lot of men would rather look like women..

It's such a great haircut precisely BECAUSE it shows how much of a man the wearer is; esp. if it is VERY SHORT on top (no more than 1/2 inch), not the exagerated Van. Ice look. I wish more men would take the plunge and start wearing this classic, macho cut. I did; and am glad to have done so.

Depends on the head shape. Some guys can't carry it off, some can. If they can, it's a great look. Forget the "tied to an era" stuff, we should be way past that.

I think Flat Tops should be the basic male haircut---I do think it needs to be cut alot ahorter than the photo shown though.

I love the flattop, but it has to be alot shorter then the one pictured. It's an excellent cut, neat, clean looking and easy to care for.

Uck, I hate those. Every time I see one I want to set my drink up there to see if it will stay. The flat-top died with the 80's. Let's let it rest in peace.

I remember a version of this when I was a teenager in the 50s called The Bogie which was a flat top with long, swept back sides. Signified that you were on the tough side so was frowned upon by school boards and prospective employers. Wore one myself briefly.

Flattops give the head too much of a boxed look, a little strange.

I hate flattops. I hate how they look and I especially hate cutting them. I think if you arent in the service and don't have to have it (whick a lot of guys in the service have a choice) get rid of it (Service Wannabe) I just talked one of my customers with a flattop out of it the other day Thank God:)
