Excellent glove and a potent bat, starting to slow down some, but definitely a Hall level player.

He is good but not a Bench, Fisk or Munson.

Pudge is the best defensive catcher of all time. Also a solid hitter, maybe below the achievements of Bench and Piazza, but on par with Berra (actually his stats look a lot like Ernie Schnozz Lombardi, who could have been a .400 hitter had he not been the slowest player in baseball history). Pudge also won an MVP in 1999. His stellar performance in '03 post-season for the Marlins was simply stellar. He has all the credentials of being a first-ballot HOFer

one of the most incredibly consistent catchers over the last 12 years of the sport. doesn't get hurt to often. plus Pudge can catch about 140 games a year. hits for some power and always for average. an unherald star on many Rangers teams, who finally got some national exposure in 2003 with the Marlins.

Easily the best catcher of his era, with good skills behind the plate, a great bat, and decent speed (for a catcher) A real pleasure to watch. I put him a tad below Bench and Berra, but he is very good.

Pudge was the best catcher of the 1990's. Won 10 straight Gold Gloves, while batting .304.
