Led the league in steals for the first nine years of his career and provided stellar defense througout his eighteen year career. Great range moving to either side. Former Boston Redsox slugger George ("The Boomer") Scott once complained, "I'da had about three thousand more hits if it wasn't for the muddafu#@in' Aparicio!" Praise from one's opponents has got to count for more than being on the good side of the critics.

Excellent fielder and great base stealer, with a decent stick by shortstop standards. Primarly known as a White Sox player, though he also spent time with Baltimore and Boston. A Hall of Famer, who formed half of a great up the middle duo with Nellie Fox in Chicago.

He had a great glove and great speed deserves to be much higher on the greatest short stop list.

Considering the old diamonds on which little loui had to play, he's the best of all times!
