Again, not so much a pet peeve as just a criminal act in general. How some of these people got their licenses, especially since they rarely (if ever) use the rules of the road, is beyond me.

I have been guilty of this a couple of times: coming out of the gas station after dark, and forgetting, etc.I do remember once I get to a stretch with no street lights tho.

Once back when I was in high school, I was driving home from my job at the mall one night and kept wondering why so many people were flashing their brights at me. I remember how sToOPid I felt when I pulled in the drive and realized I'd driven all the way home without my lights. It's a pretty easy thing to do especially if you're driving in a well lit part of town or suburbia.
