I'm a huge fan of Ted Williams, and I believe that he is the best hitting left fielder of all time, but when you look at Musial's contributions, there's no doubt that he's the best all time at the position. To paraphrase Bill James, I'd take Musial on the basepaths, Musial in the field, Musial in the dugout, and Musial in the clubhouse, and Williams only with the wood in his hand.

Probably the greatest all-around player on this list. A shade below Williams as a hitter, but a much better fielder, and had more speed too. A likeable guy, and the best player on the great 40's Cardinals clubs, from then on, great at best, at worst effective into his 40's. For his career as a whole, he was kind of a better version of Yastremski, actually. The two are quite similar stylistically.

To say I'm pleasantly suprised is an understatement. The Man has been vastly underrated and deserves the #1 spot in this poll.

Best All Around LF ever. He could hit AND play the field. That deserves my vote for Best Ever.
