Terrific hitter with an unorthodox habit of raising his leg while waiting for the pitch. He was a member of the great late 20's/ early 30's A's teams, who put up some big numbers, even considering that it was a hitter's era, they're very good indeed. After leaving the A's, he wandered from club to club, having seasons that while still pretty good, were nowhere near the magnitude of his earlier years. A Hall of Famer, quite deservedly so.
