07/30/2006 | I got stuck yesterday in the dreaded "East Bay" (anything east of San Francisco) for about 10 hours. When I finally was able to tear myself out of the comforts and blandness of suburbia, I needed a quick city fix.
Kilowatt was just what I needed. It's a classic 16th street Mission bar with pool tables, cheap beer, and tough looking dogs (pit bulls, rottweilers, etc.) walking around. The bartenders are sleeved with tattoos, and the music tends towards the punk.
Kilowatt is a kindred spirit with two of my favorite spots in the city, Zeitgeist and Lucky 13, and a good day for me would be hitting all three of these places.
