Was he the best fielding Centerfielder ever? Led the NL in putouts most years in the 1950s. Pete Rose with a touch of class.

HOF'er, played almost exclusively with The Phillies from the late 40's till the early 60's, finished up with the awful inaugural Mets team of 62. Great fielder, could run, and a fine contact hitter who, though he didn't have much power at all, hit over .300 lifetime.
