3.5 Fun player to watch, a very good leadoff hitter with speed and a good glove, could hit too. Didn't have all that much power, but was a feisty, scrappy sparkplug who always gave 100%.

I actually like Brett Butler. He was my kind of ballplayer . . . on-base average, speed, defense and hustle. He was a very good ballplayer, but everybody on this list was a good or great ballplayer. He might even be a sort-of OK choice for the Hall of Fame (better than a few who are in, anyway). But he'd be a terrible choice as the best center fielder of all time. The song is called Willie, Mickey and The Duke, not Butler, Dykstra and Van Slyke.
