People seem to be forgetting how great he was lately- a Triple Crown in '66, an MVP in each league, a big part of some great clubs in Baltimore, almost 600 homers, a scary presence at the plate, many fine years in Cincinatti, an easy choice for induction into the Hall. The 1st black manager, he's had a wildly varying career as far as that goes, but is one of the great right fielders of history, and deserves every ounce of respect from fans and officials.

Robinson was great. MVPs in the American and National Leagues says it all.

First MVP in both leagues. Triple crown winner. First black manager. Never want to see him at bat with game on line if I'm the pitcher.
