Arrogant and self-centered, plus he struck out more than anyone in history, and was mediocre at best as a fielder. However, he had power and of course the great postseasons, and although he only hit .262 lifetime, he could run when younger, and some of that relatively low average is attributable to playing much of his career, with the A's, during a pitcher's era in a park that keeps averages down with wide foul territory.

Move Reggie down the list. Babe Ruth wasn't the greatest fielder, but he was the greatest all-around baseball player in history. Ruth should be number 1 here without any argument.
