Clark's career in some regards with disappointing due to injury and when his career started going downhill, it went downhill fast. He was a great fastball hitter and could hit for tremendous power. When he was hot, he could be dangerous at the plate. At one point, he looked like he was going to have a Hall of Fame career but the injuries and his last few seasons in baseball destroyed that.

Clark, when healthy. had some good years, such as '78 with the Giants and '87 with St.Louis. He struck out a lot but countered that by walking a lot too, and he was very strong even when he was past his prime- I saw him hit a monstrous homer in '91 with The Red Sox that must have landed in Narnia. Inconsistent, though a good player at his peak.
