Somewhat forgotten nowadays, but one of the three greatest National League pitchers of his era. Marichal wasn't quite as great as Gibson or Koufax, but a great one nonetheless.

Since the Giants are honoring Marichal with a statue tomorrow, I feel that this is the right time to acknowledge him. He was a deceptive hitter and could easily change speeds. His pitching motion confused hitters. He was the winningest pitcher in the 60's and deserves a statue built for him.

i respectfully suggest,that the american press put the great marichal in the place that he really deserves without prejudice or any other unnatural consideration. he is one of the best five ever.see his numbers!...
