none of the pre 1947 players will EVER get more than 3 stars from me. They didn't play against ALL of the best players! Somo Americans were not allowed to play..3 stars at best for all of them

Great Pitcher for his time but doesn't deserve to be number one on this list. Great era and good shut out total though.

Even by the standards of his era (which dramatically favoured pitchers) this guy was something special. An odd combination of gentleman and ferocious competitor, he was probably the most likeable superstar of the early 20th century. A good argument can be made for this guy as the best right-hander of all time, but I would put him about fourth.
