The most consistent winner of the 70's, won 20 games year in and year out during that decade. In fact, he won 20 every year during that time except for '74 and '79. The Orioles had a lot of great pitchers in those years, like Cuellar and McNally, but he was the greatest one. Not a huge strikeout guy, but the man could flat out pitch. Today, his legacy has somewhat faded from the public memory, in part because a lot of his contemporaries got to 300 wins and he didn't, but the guy was as reliable as they come, and one of the most important players on a team that was always , at worst, a dangerous club, and at best a great team.

Jim Palmer has been way overrated. He should be much lower on the list.
