Clever, crafty hurler often accused of various forms of cheating. Won over 300 games with a wide variety of clubs, but performed best with the Giants and Indians, including a spectacular year in '72 with 24 wins for a mediocre to bad Cleveland squad, overshadowed a bit by Carlton's awesome year with the last place Phillies. 5 time 20 game winner. Won the Cy Young in '78 with 21 wins at the advanced age of 39 for San Diego, he'd won it in '72, and therefore won one in each league. Colorful hurler who went on to The Hall, and whose brother Jim was a fine pitcher in his own right, winning the Cy Young in '70 with Minnesota.

One of my favorite pitchers of all time, the ol' rascal. Had all the skills necessary for greatness, even without the greaseball. Extreme longevity. Very competitive. Used to put vaseline on his face, and then, acting like he was wiping off sweat from there, would apply the foreign substance to the ball. Never was caught doing this, although he was the other player besides George Brett who was thrown out of the game following the infamous pine tar incident (for hiding the bat). Won a pile of games, and hundreds of these were achieved without resorting to his usual, and trademark trickery.
