He's the best right handed pitcher I've ever seen. In the days before steroids (YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE), and pitching against ALL the players available, not just one race (Walter Johnson) he was the standard for me. He was always walking the tight rope too with the Mets. Always in 2-1, 1-0, 1-0 games..best I've seen with no performance enhancing drugs in his body!

If I could give 4.5 stars I would to Tom Terrific. The only reason Im leaving off the half star is I don't think he's in the Clemens class though when you're talking about greats like these guys your splitting hairs. Tom posted 311 wins in his career with an ERA around 3.65. His first ten years in the league were utterly dominating particularly in 1969 when he won 25 games for the Mets enroute to a World Series Championship. He later won two more rings with the Big Red Machine in the Mid-70's. The later years of his career weren't as dominating as say Clemens has been down the stretch. Tom ended up fizzling out with the WhiteSox in his final seasons.

Great pitcher with alot of heart. The heart and soul of the Amazin Mets!

Threw very hard and knew how to pitch. Was The Franchise when the Amazin's were in their infancy. Winning 300 games isn't done on luck, and given the fact this guy spent a good deal of his career on a crappy team, that win total becomes more significant.

Sorry Tom but you don't deserve to be rated above Walter Johnson.
