Never truly great, but a very good pitcher for a long time. Was still effective as late as 1986, when he won 15 games at the age of 41. Is not as bad as his detractors have claimed.

I was never a huge fan, but you don't win 300 by accident and luck. Most of the time when I watched him pitch, I wondered why he was still in the league, but he was obviously doing something right.
