Extremely durable guy with the White Sox, didn't quite get to 200 wins, but won 40 games in 1908, the last guy to win that many, though of course the game was much different then. Usually amongst the best pitchers in all of baseball from the mid 1900's to early 1910's, had a relatively brief prime for his career. One of the last star players of Irish ancestry to emerge in that time, the game was quite filled with, if not completely dominated by Irish players in the late 1800's and first decade of the 1900's:McGraw, Delahanty, Duffy, Bresnahan, Jennings,McCarthy, Kelly, Hanlon, Connor, Welch, etc.
