His 1999 season is one of the greatest ever. Temperamental, moody player: but awesome at his peak. That 1999 season is one of the best I've personally witnessed, the 3 greatest years I've seen since I started following the game in 1978 were probably his '99, Gooden's 85, and Guidry's 78. Clemens in 86 or some of those years with Toronto would be the fourth. Martinez in 97, 98, and 2000 was also spectacular. Easy HOF selection once he retires.

Still has some playing time left to deserve a five.

If Pedro can keep pitching at the level he is for the extended periods of time that Ryan and Clemens have he's going to be right in their class. The guy has almost 200 career wins with a winning percentage over 70%!!!! He's never posted a losing season with any team (though the Mets might test him this year) and has maintained a career ERA of only 2.71! He's also racked up almost 2700 strike outs already- and has taken home a couple Cy Youngs and a World Series ring in only 13 seasons. He deserves bonus points for his first two outings in a Mets uniform this year going the distance in a 2 hit victory yesterday and striking out 10 in a row during his first game.

a jerk. but a good pitcher. he should've gone to the Yankees; it would've been one more reason to HATE them

Tempermental but terrific. Six no hit innings in playoff against Cleveland. If I had to win one game Pedro's the man.

The best career Adjusted ERA (compares to league average), Highest Ks/9 IP in history of Right handed pitchers, lowest career WHIP (post 1920), highest active win pct. ...definitely should be a 5 star
