Bunning was a fine pitcher with Detroit and The Phillies in the 50's and 60's. As good as he was, I'm not at all certain that he deserves his place in Cooperstown. I kinda wish he hadn't entered politics. As a player, he was one of the more vocal ones concerning player's unions and the unfairness of the reserve clause. And yet, as a conservative senator from Kentucky he's been voted as the unfriendliest one to labor causes.
