If he could have cloned the 1978 season about six times he'd be considered one of the greatest ever. I've seldom seen a pitcher so dominating for one year.

He got a rather late start, and only wound up with, I think, 170 wins. As a Red Sox fan, his 1978 season was absolutely frightening. Not H.O.F. worthy, but a very fine hurler.

What personally impressed me the most about Guidry, was his size (or lack thereof), he was 5'7 155 pounds. He had a whip for an arm and terrific movement on all of his pitches. Displayed a tremendous amount of heart and determination .....especially for a Yankee LOL!.

Great pitcher and great heart a real gamer. If I had to win one game he would be my starting pitcher.
