The Monster was truly that in his day. One of the most intimidating relievers ever to toe the rubber, he is one of the pioneers of the position in its modern form.

Radatz was awesome. I have to question angelgs comments, however.. it's impossible to compare stats like these over different eras, because at the time Radatz was pitching, pitchers were completing games. The game of then and the game of now are 2 totally different games with some similarities.

Ok but no Rivera.

For a four-year period, no reliever was ever as unhittable and dominating as Radatz. Physically intimidating, he could pitch better and longer than any other reliever. In 1963, he once pitched 14 2/3 innings in two games two nights apart, fanning 10 and 11 batters, allowing no runs and only five hits. It takes Eric Gagne or Trevor Hoffman a month to accumulate numbers like that.

The only reason I am voting this way is to question the fact that Trevor Hoffman dosen't even appear on this list. This list has no credibility whatsoever until Hoffman is included.

Overpowering intimidator. Toughest pitcher I ever faced Mickey Mantle. Before his time. The MONSTER
