He could manage those Cleveland teams. Dont blame him for that mess in Baltimore. There is a big difference between Jim Thome/Albert Belle/Manny Ramirez and Tony Batista/Marty Cordova/David Segui.

I thought the Orioles, with a new manager and new talent, would win 85+ games this season. Fire Hargrove!

Very good manager with little to work with.

Hasnt done anything for the O's, but noone is blaming him for that. Owndership is the problem there. Indians were always competitive under him, so he isnt all bad, but he needs to be judged on what hes done lately...not much.

Mike Hargrove was a decent ballplayer and is a top quality manager. He is always a gentleman and almost never loses his temper. That fact is both a plus and a minus. He never causes any bad publicity for his team or his city, that's good. If his team is in a slump, or the players get lazy or lack ambition, and they need a swift kick in the seat of the pants, then Mike Hargrove is lacking. He expects the players to be adults and play for the team and the fans, and that just doesn't automatically happen in modern day baseball. He is a good manager, but not a good babysitter, and both are needed if you want to win the world series.

As a lifelong Indians fan,I was sad to see him leave. He definately has his hands full with the Orioles.I guess we get to see how good he is this year.

I don't think he ever got the most out of his Indians clubs and he didn't get squat out of the Orioles. In fairness, no one else has been able to get anything out of the Orioles in quite some time.
