Oh, poor Fozzie: a failed stand-up comic at heart. My favorite Fozzie antic involved a kind of "Iron Chef" challenge for stand-up comics, where he tells his audience to give him any topic, and he'll make a joke out of that ingredient. So Statler (or is it Waldorf?) yells out the challenge: "Amoeba!" And of course no one else even knows what that is ...

Strange but Okey Dokey!

His jokes may not be all that great, but he was really persistent even after all of the time, Statler and Waldorf made fun of him.

Fozzie Bear is funny at times. He tries to tell jokes but is never really good at it. He is really famous for saying Wakka Wakka.

Fozzie is cute, likes to tell jokes even though they are never good.  He is a likeable muppet.

A sweet likable bear. Wanted so much to be a stand up comic in show biz. His jokes were almost always bad. but it was hard not to like Fozzie he was a nice bear, a good pal just not a very good comic.

Wokka Wokka Wokka!!! Very nice guy, and Kermit's best friend. I never found any of his jokes to be all that funny, but he was an all around awesome fellow. I wonder if Steve Martin modeled at least some of his act after Fozzie, or vice versa. It takes a great degree of comedic skill to be able to pull off the use of rubber chickens and fake arrows through the head. Everyone needs a friend like Fozzie.

I just love Fozzie. He was always a source of humor(both good and bad), was Kermit's most loyal friend and his heart was always in the right place.

Cute and funny but dumb. Oh well can't have everything.

jeez, Fozzie was really the coolest. no, no, strike that; he IS the coolest. endlessly entertaining. a really fun character, and as much of an icon as Kermit and Piggy. what looked stupid on Chevy Chase (gag me with a spoon!), looked freakin' hilarious on Fozzie. go' bless 'im. =)

He was corny with his jokes, but God bless him, he was a sweet and lovable character. I can see why him and Kermit were best buddies, they both knew how to turn on the charm.

Fozzie's okay, but sometimes he's so stupid that he's not even that funny. I think Rowlf or Sam the Eagle ought to take Fozzie's place in the forefront of future movies.

Ive alway liked him. Yes he has those sorta "stupid" & old jokes, but he made you laugh when he told them. :)

Fozzie, when will you learn... anything! Obviously he's not the smartest Muppet, but you can't help but love him. He tries to do good... and sometimes he does!

His "Wocka Wocka" tagline was pretty genius. I wouldn't be surprised if he came up with the "It's inspirational / Muppetational" lyric in the theme song. He might get some bad ratings for some of the times he bombed doing stand-up, but I truly think that you have to look at the whole package when you're talking Fozzy. He was kind like Andy Kaufman, where his whole life became this comedic piece -- the ups and downs of individual gags subsumed by the whole.

This guy would be your best friend. I strongly believe that there is a good amount of Fozzy in Homer Simpson. Lovable, bumbling, dumb and well-maeaning most of the time. All he wanted to do was make people laugh. Even the bright and well-balanced Kermit could not resist Fozzy and they were the best of friends. I always got a kick out of it when I saw him without his hat on for some reason - kiind of like he was almost naked except for his necktie when in that state of ;undress'. Wocka Wocka Wocka...
