Ottawa is an NHL Powerhouse and because of good 'ol #40's choke job in game 7, the best coaching staff in the NHL has been dismantled. Jacques Martin, Perry Pearn and Don Jackson were in my opinion in the class of Vince Lombardi, Tom Landry, Dick Irvin and Toe Blake.

Have toughened up considerably, and have a team that looks very suited to playoff style hockey. If they get out of the first round, look out. UPDATE: Face Toronto in the first round and the series looks to be a physical one. That plays more to Ottawa's strengths than Torontos, but they may come out of the series triumphant but banged up. Still a strong favourite to represent the east in the final. UPDATE: Refusing to break their long tradition of choking in the playoffs, a far better (on paper) Senators team fell to a sluggish Toronto over the hill gang.

Too bad for Patrick Lalime, he will lose his starting job because of inconsistency. I originally thought that the Sens will get it since they had Gonchar and de Vries before the trade deadline, but it seems that the once- bankrupt team would have to get more help from the CEO of the pharmaceutical company that owns them. They were a goal away from entering the championship final last year; they should have watched what Belfour can do from day one of when he started with Dallas and capitalize on his weaknesses.

A very, very good team. With the addition of Bondra to the lineup, they are a solid team. Few can match (and maybe even none) their offensive capabilities but as for on defense, they are shaky. Lalime is not playing good this year. This is not a slump for him; it is a bad year in general. If he plays like he can, I think their chances of winning the cup our extremely high.
