All I'll say is that nothing can compare to the original Fantasia. What this one is missing is that it isn't active with the audience- it does not educate you with the use of sounds to make such interesting pictures (One example is the use of the fine line and how it shows the waves of music in the original.) We can hardly appreciate this one to its highest standards as the computers are doing most of the animation and the artists are not toiling long hours to get everything right. What is good in this movie are the stints of the flamingoes and the specter of spring before during and after whet seems to be the history of Mt. St. Helens. Yes, Pomp & Circumstance is not just for graduation, but it doesn't seem the best piece for the biblical picture of the Great Flood. I'm glad The Socerer's Apprintice was shown again, but it's a small wonder that this remake of 6 decades ago did not last long.
