If there were 10 stars I would have given it that.I liked Linkin Park from hearing them on the radio and then I saw them on the Live 8 concert and was completely blown away at how awesome they were. Mike and Chester have such a chemistry when they sing/rap. I had no idea of the vocal abilities that Chester has and Mike Shinoda is a musical genius. They are the best band to come out in a long time.

linkin park in heavy metal?lol linkin park is a mix of rap/modern rock with a lot of electric things.. its not hadrdock at all
HeadOfCobain 07/06/2005
Terrible even for a rap/metal band. They make Limp Bizkit sound like they have talent. Unless you are 12 years old and hanging out at the mall, you have no need for crap like this.

their good and music is good to listen to ...

Firstly, this wasnt the debut album - Hybrid Theory EP woz! Secondly this is one of the best albums ecer released and if you listen to the songs chester rarely screams. And he has an absolutely amazing voice and his potential is realised in Meteora. This is a must-listen-to if u like nu-metal and like rap-metal. This is a great blend of the 2. Wonderful stuff.

Linkni park is amazing, they sure know how to rock out not only on the album but in concert as well.

i bought this album when i was wrapped up in the nu-metal hotstile take over of '00. lets face it this is an average rap/rock outfit that have gotten huge by exploiting rap/rock hooks such as shiny crunchy guitar blasts and wicky-wicky-waaa-aaa DJ crap. granted chester bennington has some voice but too much of it is wasted in screaming or exchanging lines with rapper mike shinoda-a bloody waste of space, that one. there's better music out there people, anyone who loves this band now will grow out of them soon enough.
lexxy56 11/16/2003
Only one word for this band. Creative. I'm really stuck on the old hard rock but when i heard them i was instantly addicted. all songs are so diverse. They're not a band that sounds the same on every song. I also love how they incorporate agressive rock screaming /singing/rapping and samples. VERY creative..a fan forever
SunNstaRs2003 08/25/2003
Awesome lyrics, some of which tell the story of my life. And they pertain to anyone who has been screwed over, so they are easy to understand.
crazedkrinkle 08/14/2003
A guilty pleasure- not good for people set on forcing themselves to stick to indie and only indie. Chester Bennington goes from screaming to whining and back again, the music and lyrics aren't anything really special. The best element is rapper Mike Shinoda. He's not brilliant, but he really brings a lot to the album- it would have been lifeless crap without him. Don't get it if you hate every band ever to be in heavy rotation on MTV, but if you just want a fun record scream along with and there's nothing else you really want to buy at the time, give this a listen.

I got this album for 'In the End'. I too, was one of those biased against Linkin Park from the offset, but after listening to the album a few times, they had to go and grow on me. Good stuff, all around.

.5 out of 5.0 Stars: Horrible The debut from the one and only craptavagansa themselves, Stinking Fart. If you REALLY would like to know my opinion on this dreadful album, just read my review for "Reanimation" (2002). It is essentially just as accurate when applied to this album, since all of their albums are the identical annoying, repetitive crap. Do not buy this album unless you are an oblivious, selfless conformist that purchases anything that appears on MTV.

Ugh... I used to own this steaming pile of CRAP.

Linkin Park Is like One of my very few favorite Bands in the world!!!!!! For anyone who says linkin park is bad,....YOU DONT KNOW WHAT YOURE SAYING!!!!!

LP is one of my favorite groups, and this cd is truly amazing!i mean, when u first listen to it,u hear the lyrics being rapped out by mike, and then you hear chester singing his heart out (and his voice is very strong might i add),and u might be confused at first, but when you listen to it all i gaurentee you'll absolutley LOVE it!!every song deals with tough topics--for instance,isolation--and has great guitar playing, all except "cure for the itch",wich is a fun little song only with music.and for all you teeny-boppers out there....the guys in Linkin Park are sooooo sexy....ohhh yeah baby!!lol
kamylienne 03/19/2003
This album is amazing! This is one of the few albums that exist where I like every song from it. The vocals blend with the music beautifully, and the mixture of sounds stirring and strong. I didn't even mind the mixture of the smooth lead vocals and the almost-rap-style secondary vocals--it's a difficult combination. The lead vocals are soulful, the lyrics are poetic. The great downfall of this album: "Overplayed" is an understatement. It became "trendy". But, aside from all the hype, this is a CD worth checking out.
gendron13 02/23/2003
I love their heavy metal sound. They are really good, but they act like disturbed teenagers on steroids. Anyway, I have to give it to them. I love their songs "Crawling","One step closer", and "Paper cut."
hhhthegame 02/19/2003
This CD is awesome. When I got it, I really liked Runaway and One Step Closer. Now, I like almost every song, although they could've taken out Cure For The Itch and put My December in instead.
shane_colwell 01/24/2003
cd rocks best ive heard bought it today for 4 songs but listened to the whole thing loved it. if you dont like it you dont like rock
Jerry's Girl 05/16/2002
Man, the cd is so good I'm kind of speechless. There isn't a song on there that's worth skipping. They show lots of emotions when they sing and you can relate to at least one song on the cd. For example, the song By Myself. I can relate to that song the most. It's like, should you make friends with all these two-faced people and risk being hurt by them or do you play it safe and have no friends at all? Linkin Park writes meaningful lyrics that when combined with their singers, they can make a song get stuck in your head. When Mike raps he breaks it down so you can understand and Chester makes the songs better by singing with force and emotion. So if I were you, I'd really go out and buy this cd. And everone in the band is VERY cute.
doubledildo 05/01/2002

sheep rules 02/24/2002
amazing CD. linkin park are a great band and the CD is amazing. it's hard to find a CD that each and everyone of the songs in it is amazing and well written with great lyrics that everybody can relate to and amazing music. one of the best CDs i've ever heard.
ThePatriotfan 10/16/2001
I first bought the CD cause I like the songs "Crawling" & "In the End", thats really the only reason I wanted it. But when I listened to the whole thing, I liked it. I agree with all the people that say this is one of the better CDs, where you can listen to the whole album & all the songs are good. Also, the guys are HOTT!!
Mystikal 05/06/2001
I support Linkin Park becausse they're local (ATL baby, yeahhhh!!!) Ahehm. Anyways, this CD is slightly repetitive, but it definately is buyable. I think 'In the End' and 'Papercut' are songs everyone can relate to.
hotchick121 04/19/2001
Alright people this CD rocks!!! And if u don't like it then u got some major problems. This is the type of CD that u can listen to all the way through. Thier songs are about issues that everyone goes through at least once in their life. That and the guys from the band are HOTT! So if u have not bought it yet i suggest u do. Thanks, Amber

When I bought htis cd, I was kinda skepitical. I mean "One Step Closer" was such a local hit here (Orlando), and I thought they might be like those bands that have a good song on the cd, and then the rest of the cd sucks. But that isn't true with this band. I was impressed! Not only are the songs well written, they are meaningful. and the melodies and the beats are great. its a evenflow. Its a great record. From #1 to #12, its a string of great songs. When u first get the record, don't skip to #2, put it on number 1, and listen to hte whole record through. There is not one song that is mediocre. This is very well written. Its one of those records that you can listen to forever, and not get sick of it. The songs are easy to get stuck on their head. A Great band. Not another One Hit Wonder, for sure. With a cd like this, Linkin Park will be around for a long time.
