He's not particularly funny, just arch. He tries to be thought-provoking, but comes up with hollow left cliches instead. I have to give him some credit for being a topical comic, since most other attempts at humor these days are totally stupid or belong in the bathroom.

Can't say I am impressed, too greasy/sleazy for my tastes, looks like one would have to go take a long shower after being in his presence for fear of cooties. And, I am not fond of card carrying PETA members, so usually don't watch anything he is on, that is why they have remotes and 200 channels on cable, so when he comes on, you have something else to switch to!

He's so-so as a talk show host, but he's much better at that than as a stand-up. I've seen three different comedy routines of his and I honestly thought that he was the worst stand-up comic that I've ever seen. You almost felt sorry for the guy knowing that he was dying in front of a national audience. While I appreciate brutal honesty in comedy, it still needs to be coupled with cleverness or actual humor-this is where Maher seems to fail.

I just watched 9 minutes of an Amazon's new FishBowl online video interview by Bill Maher. He interviewed Stephen King (Everyone in my home is a Stephen King fan - King is the reason my son started writing at 14, after reading "Eyes of the Dragon", found his passion and it has only grown into an amazing ride for him, our family, his teachers and school. Thank you Stephen for helping someone so young.) Best thing I've seen Bill Maher do in years!! This is the Bill Maher I used to enjoy watching when I was younger. Thanks Bill, nice seeing you like that!!

there are not enough people with the balls to cut through the "party line" and say things the way they actually are. Bill is able to achieve this and weather the storm from networks and the rest of the sheep that populate this medieval planet

I enjoy his commentary at times, but often his routine becomes competitive. His last two HBO specials have been particularly disappointing, especially considering that he told the same jokes in both. Still a decent comedian, but needs to freshen up his routine a bit.

Liberal, selfrightous phoney. Rude and sickening on Politically Incorrect. The only thing funny about him is his putty nose!

A genius in our time. The only political comedian I have ever agreed on with every point. Bill Maher is only pretentious, stupid, rude and ignorant to those that disagree with his viewpoints, which are so blatently correct even my conservative friends and family give him credit. This man should be president.

Horrible timing and not funny. His show on HBO is cool.

A funny, intelligent political commentator. The quality of his show sometimes depends on the kinds of guests he has. Ann Coulter? Michelle Malkin? Bill's producers really can't find any better representatives of right-wing philosophy than this? Also, Bill sometimes takes an untenable, indefensible position and defends it against all common sense. I think he does this in the belief that it keeps him unpredictable and edgy. Still, with all its faults, its still one of the more entertaining, engaging shows on cable TV.

Political humor for the most part is not funny. In fact it's very boring.
