I love this show! I'm sorry to say it is no longer in Grand Rapids, MI but can't wait for the day they bring it back. Thank GOD for podcasts!

If you prefer style, go with Martino. If you recognize the difference between style and substance for the average (and not-so-average) American, then go with Clark if you have a choice. Yes there are imperfections but I know of no more informative and beneficial radio (or regular TV) program than Clark's.

Hey you know you can listen to Tom Martino's excellent show online from his flagship station 630 KHOW in Denver Colorado at www.KHOW.com :)

I agree with the past user comment on Clark Howard vs. Tom Martino. Clark is very dry in comparison and I was hooked on Tom's show from the moment I started listening. I am disappointed I no longer can get Tom's show on my internet stream and now just listen to Clark's because I don't have any other option for this kind of format.

This show was an exceptional discovery, All kinds of Useful Information and the price? Only our time, what a bargain. If tightwad Clark Howard or Clark {as he likes be to called} finds out people pay to listen to talk shows over the internet, the free ride would be over. {just kidding} He never ceases to amaze me with his wealth of information. With Clark, a penny pinching millionaire as host of a consumer information talk show, and a very successful ex-travel agency owner to boot, the listeners will never go wrong. The audience to his show gets a free pass to the HOW lanes on the interstate highways of finance and most anything else that has to do with money. From credit records, to the importance of credit scores, scam alerts, consumer contracts, high and low tech gadgets, name it he covers it. There is even a Clark Howard section in the encyclopedia {I am just kidding}. The most prominent part of his show is the calls by his listeners. His show has whistles and bells, and a menagerie of sounds to lighten things up {as if he needed it}. He once entertained his listeners by munching on a bag of chips. {I am smiling as I write this}. Expect the unexpected. His personality is easy going witty and very likeable. One observation that cannot be missed is his obsession with penny pinching sometimes to the extreme. I listened to several finances related programs over the years but none offered or offers the variety of information he does. They tend to concentrate solely on investments. As a penny pincher out of necessity more than choice, I appreciate programs like his. He has an extensive new and improved web site. He dedicates many hours to many good causes. If I were the type that would put a bumper sticker on my car, I would put one on my 14 year old Jeep that would say Go Clark Howard Go

Clark used to be much better than he is today. It seems Clark has begun to focus on stretching his answers out to fill the time between commercials instead of getting to as many calls as possible. Clark does give complete answers to the questions he receives, but Clark also is very selective in the questions he takes. Here in Atlanta we have a very bad selection on AM radio. Maybe someday we can have Tom Martino. Unlike Clark, Martino will go after companies by name and solves problems.

Any person in the media who is out there advocating for the rights of consumers etc deserves respect, but I have to say, Clark's radio show is a pretty dry listen. I've been a long time listener to Tom Martino's Troubleshooter Show and when I first discovered Clark's show was hopeful I might now have 2 shows like this to listen to, but where Tom is an animated and sometimes wild listen, Clark is pretty monotone. Not a bad show content wise, just not very gripping compared to the originator of the format, Mr Martino

Clark Howard rocks! Not the most exciting conversation around but he is very knowledgeable on all topics relating to finance.

Not much on Atlanta AM radio except for conservative shock jocks spewing venom & repititious sports talk. Then the Almighty sent us this lovable geek to help us think about stuff actually relevant to our lives. I'd like to see Neil Boortz, or Rush Limbaugh save me money on stuff like dishwasher soap!
