 | eveningcocktail2 (0) 08/26/2008 | Naples, FL: This was by far the worst dining experience ever. SERVICE WAS HORRIBLE!!!! I had a similar situation last year here, but I am all for a second chance. We were seated immediatley, and ordered four appetizers for a party of five. Well thank goodness we didnt order an entree, we would have gotten it the following morning. It took 15 minutes everytime for a refill. I had to constantly go up to the counter, I just wanted to fill it myself. My family and I asked for the same thing at least three times. The restaurant is clean, its just very POORLY RUN!!!! There were three employees. A manager and two waitresses. THEY COOKED THE MEALS THEMSELVES!!!! THERE WERE NO COOKS!!! Three tables around us became furious and complanied. It was a very uncomfortable and dissapointing experience. All three tables gave back one plate, and they were all fish. One said it "was cold and flaky" Unless you have a good story that may take a few hours and you want to tell your friends every detail I suggest you go somewhere else. The manager came and said "I am so sorry I will give you an appetizer for free", sure enough we get the check and its on there, I would have said something however, I would have waited an hour over a five dollar appetizer and I just wanted to get the hell out of there. It was so beyond pathetic, I just couldnt bother. If you choose to go, or get invited and cant get out of it(try your best to), ask for the check as soon as you order, if not bring a sleeping bag and get comftorable, you will be there for a while. Notice that every good comment is the restaurant in Las Vegas, which makes sense because a city like that would never allow a resteraunt to have such poor service, so it's the rest of the country that gets screwed.

 | FoodisGood (0) 04/19/2008 | Went to the San Francisco location today.
Being as it's located at FISHERMAN's WARF, you'd think they'd really pull out all the stops to make sure the fish was superior. But, it was not. In fact, it was cold, stiff and super fishy. I stopped eating for fear of food poisoning! We were the first couple in the place too, so you'd think everything would be super fresh.
The staff was really sweet though so, this bad review is in no way a reflection of how we were treated.
Just go for drinks and apps....do dinner/lunch elsewhere.

 | isis7503 (0) 04/15/2008 | Visited the location at Lake Buena Vista. The food was good and the service was ok. The servers all dance every hour or so, which is a good thing because it distracts you from asking where your food or drinks are...lol. The host stand seemed to be unorganized, even with a manager, "Sara" helping out. She seemed very unpersonable. She did a round of checking on tables, and hit every one around us except ours. Guess she didn't want to have to deal with any concerns. The food was pretty good for the price and the atmosphere was fun, maybe the management is more friendly at another location.

 | LIN2610 (0) 04/01/2008 | My husband and I and another couple ate at Joe's Crab Shack In Pearland, Tx. The food was very mediocre. The music was loud and the service was very poor. On top of that, I read the waitress' T-Shirt and it say "Crabs are for Eating...Not Itching". I thought I was going to hurl my food I had just ate. I thought that was of extremely poor taste and could not believe management would support that...Where have our morals gone.

 | professionalEater (0) 02/02/2008 | it barely deserves the compliment of a one star i'm giving it. i'm all for an entertaining environment... but there is a limit that i suppose this place doesn't know about. and the shrimp must've just been seasoned in the grease it's cooked it. If i wanted to pay for crap i'd hire a toilet as my chef. Just go home if you have this place in mind.

 | youheartNRT (0) 01/17/2008 | [Las Vegas, Best in the West location] What I ordered was okay, but it wasn't worth the total of $50 to eat there for two! Service was decent, it was around noon on a weekday so they were not too busy. The place looks very nice, almost like a marina, but the food doesn't taste like it. Spend your mone elsewhere.

 | freelancecritic (0) 01/15/2008 | If the kitchen ever ran out of bread crumbs this place would have to close it's doors. And of course their deep fat fryers get plenty of use. An excellent place if you like deep-fried bread with a little seafood.

 | 2muchbi7ching (0) 09/15/2007 | For you people complaining about the atmosphere you obviously went to the wrong place!! Joe's is a very fun atmosphere with loud music and at least you get some entertainment while you eat!! you should try living a little and try to have fun, if you are trying to have a fancy dinner than maybe your planning should be a little different!! I drive a half hour just to be able to go eat in such a kicked back fun environment and you guys want to complain about everything!! The items they sell in their store are supposed to be funny and the reason they sell them is because obviously some people like them!! loud and too full of people?? well then maybe you should try to stay home and cook yourself, in your boring environment!!!!

| We didn't mind waiting 20 minutes for our seats. But once they sat us down at a corner booth alllll the way at the end of the room (literally) we felt forgotten and ignored. It took them 15 mintutes to finally get water out to us and that was after trying to get their attention. For that, they paid for one appetizer which was nice, but only to find that they didn't cover the entire appetizer cost - we had to pay $2 for it. Finally, we were able to order our drinks and food. We waited another 15 minutes for our food. While waiting, we watched our server "Jessica" go around serving other people and noticed that a group of 6 tall handsome young guys came in and weren't even all sitting down yet and she already started asking for drink orders. That was total BS. So once our food came out we noticed that we didn't even have utincils, so as our food sat there cold, all three of us raised our hands and waved trying to get someone's attention and finally resulted in having to get up and find someone else, who wasn't our server, to bring us utincils. Then we realized we didn't have crab crackers and we had to ask them for that too. After asking TWICE for crab crakers, they came back with ONE and explaining that it was the ONLY one they could find. I find that hard to believe because it was a CRAB shack. You think they would be prepared! It wasn't even a full restaurant! I was in total disbelief. We left pissed and unsatisfied. The food was alrite. The appetizer was great, but the crabs were too salty. I left them a tip of $.25 cents with an angry note on a napkin. that was my first and last time at JOE's CRAP SHACK! |

 | athenian (0) 05/24/2007 | Atmospehere is fun. I really like the location in Naples Florida. Its right on the river. Food is just ok, but most people dont go there for the gourmet cuisine. Most items are served in a basket with fries. As far as chain seafood restaurants go, Red Lobster is probably better, but you'll probably have more fun at Joe's!

 | raeleanne (0) 12/16/2006 | The one just outside of Kansas City, MO, is excellent! I love their crab legs and coconut shrimp, not to mention the appetizers. Really good food, laid back atmosphere, and really nice wait staff, EVERY time I've gone.

 | NikkiS75 (0) 07/18/2006 | I have to agree with people who have rated Joe's Crab Shack poorly. I went there once and once was enough. The food wasnt' bad (I had stone crab and nearly slapped the waitress it was so good, LOL!), but the sheer volume level was too much for me. It's a pity I can't seem to find stone crab anywhere else... :(

 | X Factor Z (13) 05/26/2006 | Good food, not as mind boggling expensive as you would think, fun decore, but despite the obvious over silliness, a very good place to eat.

 | bdp234 (0) 05/21/2006 | The worst place in the known world to eat. What is up with the dancing? I mean come on....the kids even thought it was strange. we felt like we were at a midevil mess hall. The crab was like eating an old leather shoe. The shrimp were tiny little and crappy and covered with enough breading in hopes that you wouldn't notice how awful they were. How can you mess up crab if your name is the Crabshack. The crab legs were most likely sitting in the freezer for about a year or so. I would have rather eaten my own legs.

 | Gourmand (11) 01/29/2006 | COLD food..no excuse..ever..very expensive with small portions. Their emphasis is making money on the alcohol served, not the food. [Grapevine location]
Skip it!

 | rushrulz (0) 10/15/2005 | I've been twice and have been amazed at how bad it is. The musical number they do? Even if I could tolerate the noise, the waitstaff isn't allowed to do their jobs while it's going on. But I think the low point there was having awful snow crab. It's called Joe's Crab Shack, and they can't make crabs? They were stringy and dry and wouldn't come out of the shell.

 | emily930 (0) 08/17/2005 | It's suppose to be loud and fun. Thats the whole point. If you thought you were going for a quiet intimate dinner you went to the wrong place. The food is good and there's no money amount you can put on the looks of youre childs faces. I highly recomend it.

 | musicprof (1) 08/13/2005 | If you are hungry for some great seafood, you came to the wrong place. If you came for a fun experince while dining on decent food, you there. Tolerable food, fun atmosphere, pretty fair staff. Not Bad.

 | kissthecook (8) 05/22/2005 | My friends and I thought this place was so great in high school. We would drive the hour and a half trip to the closest one and shop at the nearby mall, then eat dinner there. We just liked flirting with the waiters and being stupid while we were there. I actually don't remember what all I have tried there, but I do remember it was always good and decently priced. I also remember us dancing and singing very loudly. I am sure we got on most everybody elses nerves.

 | texasyankee (21) 05/22/2005 | The one here in Plano, my husband and I went for our anniversary first year in Texas, and for a chain place, it was pretty good. The waitresses were fun, they started dancing country, which was an amusing form of entertainment. I don't like how they have the store with all this Joe crab shack crap for unreasonable prices. My motto is, if I am going to advertise for you, you better give me the t-shirt for free. Had my first crayfish there, and enjoyed myself. Not a bad price, either.

 | Randyman (105) 02/20/2005 | The food is not bad, but when I asked why Lobster wasn't on the menu, the waiter just shrugged and said I dunno. A seafood restaurant that doesn't serve Lobster?

 | sberhard (0) 12/13/2004 | Lame; poor food, little flavor, slow service, bizarre music (they crank it up every 5th song or so to give the place a sense of excitement), and at least in Vancouver Washington, a great location.
But it doesn't make up for the overall lameness of the experience. Go to Beaches, a mile or two to the East.

 | alpepper (21) 06/11/2004 | Enjoy going there anytime. Seafood is good and plentiful. Their coconut shrimp is the best. It's a fun restaurant too. My daughter loves to join the waitstaff when they do the conga line to songs like YMCA.
