was good at first but "jumped the shark" a couple seasons ago

Apart from all the comments I read about My Wife and Kids I really enjoyed watching this show. It was really funny and just plain good. I was really disappointed to hear that it was cancelled. I hope that some other network picks it up.

The show has improved since last season. The characters are more believable.

When I think of black-oriented SITCOMs, I laughed 'til I spit watching Sanford and Son, got a kick out of Good Times, enjoyed That's My Momma, and liked the show with Rerun (forgot the name of it). While I didn't think it was the funniest show, I didn't mind The Cosby Show, as it showed, black families could be successful and have situations. Of recent vintage, Bernie Mac is very funny. But what I don't like about My Wife & Kids is that the show's characters could easily be white and it still would be just the same and just as lame. For someone with so much edge as Damon Wayans, he seems so mis-cast in this one of many lousy ABC SITCOMs.

This show is the bomb.

needs to get better storylines, and portray the kids in a more believable light.

Yet again, we have another uninspired family sitcom with nary a dose of creativity to be found. This one even has the Roseanne(YUCK!)-esque vacation episodes that take NO advantage of their exotic settings. Even more, the show has an extremely high level of sexual content for a supposed family sitcom. Wayons has talent, but it is wasted here. As for the rest of the show--it is completely forgettable.

I get the occasional chuckle from this show, but most of the time, I can't stand it. I semi-like Damon Wayans and Tisha Campbell, but I find the child stars rather obnoxious most of the time, and their stupidity or ignorance or whatever you want to call it IS NOT endearing, rather grating. I don't like how they try to infuse hidden. deep and meaningful messages into each episode when the father is basically an asshole to his children most of the time and talks about sex non stop. Hey, I like these aspects to most shows, but I hate that it can't pick a genre. I find the way the characters go about their everyday lives to be a ridiculous facade. Noone acts like these people. I just can't stand it.

While enjoyable and entertaining at first, this season the show has settled into being simply obnoxious. Damon Wayans is a fairly talented comic so I don't understand why it has been such a complete waste sometimes. Tisha Campbell-Martin is grating on screen as is their interactions together. The child actors are whiny and unbelievable. What started as a moderate show is now a waste of air time.

Funny! Funny! Funny! A great family show... in which I've even taken some parenting tips from!! My husband and I can't get enough of this show!

This program is the best comedey program for quite a few years now. it is definatly up there in the legandary section, with Maried with Childern. Anyone who does not like this program, quite francly should be shot repeatedly

I never get a chance to watch this particular show, but I love it. The Wayans guy is so cute and very talented. The rest of the cast does a good job as well. A very wholesome, family oriented tv show. I recommend it to everyone. :) The new 2003-04 season looks really awesome ! Don't miss the season premiere.

I think it's a great show. They use humour with daily life and Wayans is a great father who comes up with really outrageous ways to punish his kids.

Damon Wayans needs to fire his agent. I've never seen such a talented actor have his talents so consistently wasted. Did the world REALLY need another family based sitcom? Nope. Mr. Wayans should be above this based upon other quality work I've seen from him. Get out of the sitcom biz and use that superior talent to do something innovative again..

Many sitcoms will make me smile, but not laugh. This makes me laugh, but not as often as Married with Children. If you think about it, Married with Children is basically the same name as My Wife & Kids.

I watch this show and liked it for a while, mostly because Mr Wayans is so funny. It was a bit of escapism in my TV watching. HOWEVER...the season opener this year really bothered me. This was the show where the family went to Hawaii for vacation and the young 14 year old boy had sex with an island girl. I am not opposed to a little reality in comedy, but it was portrayed as if it was a normal, natural and acceptable thing that a 14 year old boy have sex with a stranger he just met. No consequences, no negative outcomes, no mention of protection, etc. This show is a family show and many children watch it every week. I am not a prude, but once they add this gratuitous sex with minors, I'm out of here!

This is a fun show as good as any of the comedy shows that are on now.

Great show! It comes on the same time as Dawson's creek and I happen to be following that .they should chang time's or day's so I can see both.
