This needs to happen in order for the United States to begin to gain back some of the many morals lost by liberalism. Realistically speaking, it may never happen, but something needs to be done to stop the loss of our society's convictions. And Eschew: If we leave this issue to the states, your going to have fifty different laws on marriage! Meaning that a couple could be married in one state and not be in another.

This isn't going to happen and it should not happen. This is a states' issue and should be dealt with there. Legitimizing sexual deviancy is not the purview of the federal government, there are many much more important issues for federal officials and cabinet members to concern themselves with. Remember Prohibition? Did we learn nothing from that wasteful debacle? Balance the budget by reducing our goliath spending problem and fight terrorists. When those two issues are resolved, there'll be other important issues to address.

I don't expect this to happen in 2004. If and when it does, it won't be a shocker. It will be a relief.

I haven't been keeping up with this as of late as much as I should be because I will be with my beau as long as we wish to be together...and no oppressor or hate-filled person will stop us. If and when this does pass, it wouldn't shock me at all. So many of our rights are being violated as I type this anyway...what is one more?

That will not be a surprise it will happen. It is already banned in several states. In Kentucky and soon to be Ohio! Everyone will have to go to Boston and have Kennedy marry them! A bigger shocker would be to see Kerry and Kennedy get married.

It isn't going to happen. It usually takes a very long time for a constitutional convention to be called to ratify a new amendment. Given that this issue is so controversial right now, it would be very difficult to get such an amendment passed so quickly in a election year. No, but as a consolidation prize for Bush's political base, he's going to take Howard Stern off the air!
