Isn't ironic don't ya think, that her most famous song shows she doesn't actually understand the meaning of the word ironic. To be honest it's only one of three songs I know she's done, however I've not been terribly impressed by any of them. I'm sure there are fans of her out there somewhere otherwise she wouldn't sell many records (maybe she doesn't, I don't know). If you've never listened to any of her music then count yourself lucky that you've not been subjected to the abysmal "Ironic" or "One hand in my pocket".

Even as a guy, I didn't have any serious issues with her one big album, but there hasn't been much since then and her incorrect use of the literary term 'irony' has always bothered me. . .

Alanis was one of the first rock singers that I wormed up to unexpectadly. I use to like just what's out there, then she came along sounding very different. Even though I was very much into different kind of music than what she was making, somehow it just appealed to me.

This greasy haired starlet has my full acclaim! She wears her heart on her sleeve and feeds the listener a rigorous diet of raw, uninhibited emotion. In an age where popular music is increasingly a medium for insipid, manufactured groups who are aesthetically pleasing but lacking in soul, Alanis' patented angst is as incisive as a diamond-tipped bullet. Sure, she does whine about men a lot (though, to be fair, we do deserve it for being such bastards), but some of the greatest male songwriters in history have moaned just as incessantly about women. A lot of people have some intense feelings, but the ability to so precisely articulate them within the musical medium is a rare talent indeed.

Words cannot convey my contempt for this woman's music.

Well, I liked that hit of hers where she screamed and hollered about that man who ran around on her, but nothing else she's done has been that great.

'Jagged Little Pill' was great and made quite a wave on the musical pond. However, now her music has settled into boring similarity. Screechy, whining about men and nothing special anymore, she needs to evolve her style.

Obviously has a lot of talent. I really liked Jagged Little Pill. Not real fond of her screaming singing style at times.. but I guess it works for her.
