I give a five star to Leonard Cohen. I first stumbled across him when I saw "McCabe and Mrs. Miller," in the early 1970's. That flick used three songs from his debut album, "Songs of Leonard Cohen. "Stranger Song" is McCabe's theme, "Winter Lady" is Mrs. Miller's, and "Sisters of Mercy" is the theme of the prostitutes who work in their establishment. He also composed some incidental music for the movie. His songs have been in many other movies. He is great and he has stuff on my IPod.

Now that Johnny Cash is gone, Leonard Cohen will always be the coolest man in the room whenever he enters.

Everybody knows the boat is sinking. Everybody knows the captain lied. One of the greatest song writers of all time. Although other artists had bigger hits with his music only he could deliver that deep rich from-the-bottom-of-my-soul feel to the words. His 1988 appearance on Austin City Limits is a performance classic. A deeply spiritual and caring man who loved words and music. One of the greats.
