What is all of this crap about Amsoil being expensive? Are you people on drugs? What planet are you on? How much does 8 to 11 trips to Jiffy Lube cost vs. $50-70 for Amsoil? Man, some of you people simply are not good at math. I've had 4 cars using Amsoil and EVERY ONE OF THEM had an increase in gas mileage by as high as 4.7 MPG. Don't give me this crap about your car not getting better gas mileage. You must be driving in stop and go traffic in NYC or something then or you're a total lead foot.

Anytime I see a post where somebody says Amsoil is expensive, this INFURIATES ME. People like you should be sued for slander and lies. Amsoil costs me NOTHING! If you pay $50-70 to save $200-400/yr. in fuel, HOW IS THAT EXPENSIVE? Some people here are just idiots.

if anything they are only a tiny bit better than the other oils out there. I've tried it, saw no difference in my fuel economy, and I am crazy about this stuff. I see a difference everytime I do maintenance. But never found any with any amsoil changes. And I got news for you guys. Any synthetic will run 25+k miles without an oil change. Not just amsoil. Just amsoil would rather charge you more, give you less oil, unlike the others who try to get you to buy it more often toi make the same money. Just because an oil is black, doesnt mean it's bad. that's just the detergents doing its job. It's still just as lubricating. Find out for yourself. Run both oils, get them tested as you go. You'll find they both go good for the same amount of mileage.

Hands down the best lubricants money can buy! I've been using all their products (ATF, Oil, Brake Fluid, Gear Lube etc.) for about 18 years in everything from my VW Golf TDI to my weedeater and have never had an issue. The once a year oil change is NOT true, you can actually go much longer but for $52.00 why chance it. It's expensive yes, but you save money over the long haul. You pay $52.00 a year instead of $18.50 eight times a year ($148.00). Everyone has an opinion but when it comes down to the nuts and bolts Amsoil leads the pack and has been doing so since they introduced the first API certified synthetic in 1972.

I guess in reading some of this stuff I have a couple of issues. There are those who say synthetics are overrated. Wrong. If you can't find the proof, you're not very good at looking or you aren't trying. Those who say you're playin' with fire you will get burned are also probably big oil reps (Exxon, mobil...etc)....Tons of folks have used AMSOIL for decades without issue. I continue to put it in all my stuff (rigs to lawn mowers). Expensive? If you never drive your vehicle I suppose it is more expensive than the cheap foreign oil, but if that were the case why would you be in here popping off? If you do drive your car even 15,000 miles a year and change it at the oil company recommended 3,000 miles, than you need to take a remedial math class cuz your math's a bit fuzzy. Yes, I'm a proud AMSOIL dealer and although I take pains not to denigrate other quality synthetics (such as Mobil 1), I guess I wonder why there are those who don't afford AMSOIL that same courtesy. I suppose it's the age old mantra, when you're on top, everyone's gunning for ya. Plus what Big Oil has done under the Bush regime has made this a fairly viable topic...yes they've gotten rich, but at a price we in the synthetic business are happy to pay.

Have used amsoil asl 5w-30 for the last 4 years on a vehicle with now over 150,000 miles on it. Change it once a year but now seriously considering only every 2 years since everytime the oil sample is analyzed at the end of the year, it looks brand new. My mpg also improved from 18 to nearly 21. I need 5 qts for $35 the filter another $15 for a total of $50 a year so it would be stupid and more costly for me to use any other synthetic. To each their own but I recommended searching for it and giving it a try before forming any negative opinions about it. The only reason it's not in alot of retail stores is because amsoil won't give them a big enough discount for them to turn a profit and since you'll only need it once a year they wouldn't be able to move fast enough or afford to offer it for sale or clearance like they can everything else that is marked up so high to clear it off the shelves.

It's either this or Royal Purple, with Mobil One used in a pinch.

Been using Amsoil products since 1998. Not a dealer either. Driven over 220,000 miles and mechanic says cars are in the best shape he has ever seen. Gas mileage increased 10%, lower maintenance costs (extended drains, oil, transmission, rear differential, fuel injector cleaner, etc.) No seal problems, compression is the same out of the factory. See you on the road!

I do think most people dont need to spend their money on amsoil when for the most part, changing oil using something cheep like havoline every 5000 miles will work for most. How many miles do you expect to put on your car? I used havoline 5w30 in a honda civic which I did 5k oil changes and sold at 148k. My friend bought it and has 246k on it using the same oil. I forgot, hondas go forever on any oil while in a big three pos, you need amsoil to even think about putting 150k on the engine.

Amsoil is awesome. Amsoil has been making a 1 year or 25,000 mile oil since 1972. Mobil 1 wasn't even thought of in 1972. With the Amsoil nano fiber technology oil and air filters a 25,000 mile or 1 year oil change is possible. Amsoil is also American made and the best oil you can buy. If you have truely researched the quality of motor oils you would already know there is nothing better than Amsoil. Mobil's best motor oil is only a 15000 mile oil which isn't even half as good as the best Amsoil which is a 35,000 mile oil. Mobil 1 15000 mile oil isn't much cheaper than Amsoil 35000 mile oil. It should be half the price of Amsoil since it is only half as good, but it isn't so who is getting ripped off? Do the math.

Mobil doesn't even believe in their own product since they recommend not going beyond manufacturer recommended drain intervals until the vehicle is out of warrenty.

There are all kinds of tests posted all over the internet on how Amsoil out performs other engine oils. If they weren't true Amsoil would have all kinds of lawsuits against them, but they don't. Castrol and Mobil were fighting in court a few years ago and that is also on the internet. I am still waiting for this so called awesome Mobil 1 to file a lawsuit against Amsoil, but it never happens.

Amsoil made in America, by Americans, for Americans. Buy the best, buy American.

Amsoil is a great oil. Nice of someone thinking ahead 30 years ago and make an synthetic motor oil for internal combustion engines. It is second to none. I would use it 10,000 miles and not worry at all.

Looks like a bunch of propaganda. Performing on bench tests (static tests-Noack, pour, flash point, yes...even the 4 ball bearing wear test(I checked the site)) doesn't mean squat when it comes to active (dynamic reality) motor wear. I am sure Amsoil is a good synthetic.....but why pay so much more for something that is really no better than the other guys...Mobil one, Pennzoil,etc.etc.etc. Also, looking at what info. I can find...Amsoil doesn't have anything (active ingredient) superior to any of the other oils....Mobil One or Royal Purple most bang for the buck. 25k oil change...keep playin' with fire, get burned.

Best on the planet, but a little pricey. I've used it for 25 years and always notice the difference when I put it in.

Best oil ever made. We use it in all of our vehicles and each vehicle gets better gas mileage since the switch and they all start better in the wintertime. We now put it in our four wheelers, generators and lawnmowers, most relizble oil ever. My dad is a licensed Amsoil dealer! AMAZING PRODUCT! For you people who say its hard to find. Most family owned shops carry Amsoil products, plus you can find them online at their website. FOR THE FOURTH TIME, BEST OIL EVER MADE, ONCE YOU SWITCH YOU WILL NEVER GO BACK!!

I had an independant lab analysis done after 13,000 kms and 7 months which showed the XL 5W-30 was still good. 12,000 km. or 6 months (whichever comes first) is the limit in the specs.

By far, the best oil available. The only 25,000 and 35,000 mile motor oil that comes with a written warranty to replace any lubricated part (labor included) in the event of an oil related failure. All 3000 of the Texas Department of Public Safety Police cars use it exclusively and change at 20,000 mile intervals (based on used oil analyses) without a single oil related problem for the past 10 years. The only company that compares itself against it's competitors by name in eight ASTM stamdard oil tests.

K&N makes the best filters dumby-AMSOIL is okay but 25k miles and changing filters 3-4 times is redicuolous-where can you find this oil-not many places just their retarded website-that last guy is a fake-he lies about it all-use valvoline or mibil.

I love Amsoil...for those who think it's crap...well I don't know where you are getting that information from. I have run Amsoil in 4 cars now and I have a total of 150,000 miles on them with this oil...not a lick of problems. I did a LOT of reserch about Amsoil before buying...talked to a LOT of mechanics...and I could not find a one with a bad thing to say about the product. In fact my current sales guy is a engine rebuilder...he swears by Amsoil. My last sales guy owned a shop he used it...and after 3 years of waiting for a customer failure with Amsoil his 65 year old mechanic uses it in everything from his truck to his law mower. He didn't believe it either, but he believes it now. I put 50K miles on a year and I love how much time and money it saves me. I have it in the engine and the trany...I'm even thinking about putting in the bypass system.

Quite possibly the best oil-but expensive and hard to find and I don't believe that it could last 25,000 miles. A higher quality Mobil.

Here is the scoop. AMSOIL's patented new nanofiber technology results in the BEST oil and air filters you can get...yes they are more efficient than any other filter out there. You start there when it comes to lubricating your engine, if you have lousy filtration then yes, as someone here put, gunk will build up in the oil. However, AMSOIL is designed with a very robust additive package that enables you to extend your drain intervals (as endorsed by major vehicle manufacturers)up to 25K miles...and AMSOIL guarantees their product. Show me another oil manufacturer that stands behind their product in that way. AMSOIL's new EA oil filters now line up with the oil and are changed once a year without oil analysis. In order for you to further enhance oil cleanliness is to install the EA air filter which is the best air filter on the market when it comes to keeping contaminants out of your engine. Is the price worth it? It is far cheaper to run AMSOIL than to run the regular petroleum oils. It is also way better for your engine. I have used AMSOIL in every vehicle I own for the last three years, and while that may not be the test of all tests on a motor oil, I have complete confidence in their products. Questions? You can email me at timsully@earthlink.net.

I would never run another engine without Amsoil.I pull a 12,000 lb 5th wheel with a Ford V10 and the engine runs cooler & I see a notcable difference in my mileage. Of course Amsoil costs more, it is better and I would only use the best in my vehicles. Expensive? Bet my motor out lasts any without Amsoil.

Have heard some good things about this oil. Problem is I would not want to go 25,000 mi between oil changes. I think the oil is good for that long however too much gunk would build up in the engine. so my question is do you guys change the filter often or just leave it alone ?

I have worked in the automotive aftermarket for over 30 years as everything from a gas pump jockey to partsman. Amsoil has been the leader in synthetic oils from the beginning of their company. They came out with 25,000 miles as their oil change interval and have not backed off since. I use their products in every engine I own. I have set up several shops so that they could provide a leading edge product to their customers. If you do the math, you will discover that it is cheaper to use Amsoil than it is to use coventional oils. If you want to use the best then use Amsoil.

Amsoil is rediculous for the price they are trying to sell for. Oil change every 25,000 miles? You will have to change the oil filter 3 times before you change the oil. NOT REALISTIC and CONVENIENT AT ALL !

25,000 miles between oil changes, lowered engine operating temperature, lower amount of friction, and I gained 3 miles per gallon. The only true 100% synthetic oil on the market (no petroleum basestock or additives--Mobil 1 doesn't can't claim that piece of information!!!!) Made in USA, and is the absolute best!!!!
