Jeez, there are STD's and then there are STD's. This makes the clap look pretty appealing.

NOT NECESSARILY!! and I will tell you why..Now lean back while I tell you an interesting tidbit of historical information... Back in the mid-fourteenth century, the black death was hitting Western Europe hard - some areas had their population cut in half. It is said that 2/3 of the Norwegian population died of the plague. People did not understand the nature of the illness. It was a malevolent and frightening force over which they had no control. People thought the world was ending, thought each day might be their last. The power structures that had regulated their lives were being wiped away and some of the people basically decided to let it go and did what they wanted, in the words of Prince, they 'partied like it was 1999' - there was a loosening of moral and sexual codes. Also, the marriage market was revitalized by people who had lost partners to the bubonic plague. So, in fact the black death, while not quite a turn on, caused a spike in activity. And there you are and there you have it. 3 stars, nonetheless.

Yeah, back when I first dated - AKA the Dark Ages - this malady did tend to put a pall on many an otherwise enchanted evening. But once Goth came along nobody seemed to notice as much anymore.

Unfortunate but not a big deal. Ten days on Penicillin takes care of the problem.

I don't think the CDC would be allowing these people out to go on dates to begin with if a black plaque epidemic occured again. But if it did happen, it would happen for a short time and you probably wouldn't notice the first stages of it anyways and would end up catching it from them. But the plaque can be cured if caught early...

Since the Black Plague was eradicated centuries ago, I wouldn't lose any sleep over this Jon.

Yeah, I'd say the black plague is a hell of a mood-killer, right up there with Ebola . . .
abichara 04/08/2004
Whoa, talk about a killer STD! I'd try to keep away from people with the plague in the first place.

Nothing is more annoying then getting intimate with someone only to realise shortly afterwards, you're sprouting buboes, turning black and of course, dying. Really chafes my derriere.
