In my experience women who can't dress, can't....... you get the idea.

i saw a man yesterday wearing a red pleated mini mini skirt w/ a white silky bodysuit and white womens flats and he had a beard down to his chest which was also hairy and so were his legs. so i would say this could be a major turnoff

What matters is what is under the clothes..lol

Who gives a crap about what people wear, what they look like with nothing on is better unless you are fat.

Fashion is strange and alien to me, all I know is certain colours and shapes appeal to me more than others but my knowledge of clothing is so ineffectual I couldn't identify them if you asked.

It isn't a turn off or even something that I would break up with a guy over, however it does irritate me if a guy doesn't try to dress nicely. But if I loved him, I would accept him for who he is regardless....

I'd go with Enkidu on this one. Girls who don't care about their clothes are probably lousy in bed. But really, these first impressions matter.

I think it's harder for a man to go wrong with clothes because men don't have the dizzying array of fashion choices that women do. If a man dresses neatly, if not spectacularly, that's fine with me. But I might have a problem with a man who walks around in polka-dots and checkered slacks(to quote an old Elvis Costello song).

For me, personally, I'm a jeans & t-shirt kind of girl, if you don't like me unless I wear the Gap-Abercrombie-and-Fitch-Old-Navy uniform, then you're too shallow for me to bother with, anyhow. As far as my opinion on others: Hey, the clothes can come OFF, it's what's underneath that's the turn-on . . .

This does tend to make a big difference. When I go out in a cap and jeans, girls are friendly enough but not overly flirtatious. If I have a trendy pastel-colored, button long sleeve shirt and some dark blue jeans from Banana Republic, with black club shoes and a silver necklace and my hair spiked up, girls really open up and talk to me like I have style and money. I don't want a girl who is looking only for money, but if a girl is attracted to a classy guy I don't see that as being a problem. Dressing right gives off the vibe of intellect, neatness, wealth, and style.

In my experience, dowdy clothes are worn by women who don't like sex. Not always, but there's a pretty good correlation.
