Bohr made tremendous contributions to the early days of quantum mechanics. I find it interesting that Bohr's model of the hydrogen atom, though incorrect, explains hydrogen pefectly, although it does break down quickly as you increase the atomic number.

While it may not have been his intention, his writing about complimentarity have shaped my personal philosophy and helped me grow into a person who is no longer concerned with apparent contradictions in life.

This Atomic Physisit is the most brilliant scientist in the twentieth century. This Professor had the highest World possition in physics of his time. Unpopular because the Theory of Relativity was presented to him 3x but he rejected it each time after looking at it, saying that Einstein was manipulating his mathermatics. Heard many times the slander that he helped the nazis in their nuclear program (no mention of Werner who didn't have a choice in the matter). he was antinazi, a Jew and he risked his life fleing occupied Denmark. May have helped Oppenheimer.

Here’s someone I knew almost nothing about before reading “The Making of the Atomic Bomb” by Richard Rhodes. That book did a great job of describing the huge impact Bohr has had on the scientific community. This guy, besides being a genius physicist and a top athlete, was one of science’s best leaders in the early-to-mid 1900s, a period of mind-boggling advances. In addition, Bohr was one of a handful of people who really tried to make people think about the consequences of the atomic work that promised to unleash staggering destructive power.
